2009 TRI-CITY VOLLEYBALL GRAND PRIX FINALS IN ASBURY PARK

Sponsored by AP Volleyball, Charm City Volleyball and Philly Volleyball, this series offers B, BB and A+ (one AA player allowed) divisions based on NAGVA rules and ratings. Baltimore and Philadelphia locations will act as qualifiers for teams to enter into the two day final, hosted by Asbury Park. Because of Philly's facility size and cost, we are giving winning teams from each qualifier and teams who played in both qualifiers entry priority. Similar to NAGVA championships, we are following the rules of 4 core players for each team. Medals and prizes will be awarded at the final location in Asbury Park.

TEAM QUALIFIERS

Teams that win each division at the city qualifiers (Baltimore and Philly) are guaranteed a spot at the finals until November 1st. After November 1st, spots will be reserved and confirmed on a first come first serve basis.

The cost for teams that win each qualifier is $150 per team. Other teams that participate at the qualifiers can also play in the finals at the cost of $200 per team. The cost for teams that do not play the qualifiers is $250 per team.

CORE PLAYERS

In order to receive the priority and pricing mentioned above, you must have a minimum of 4 core players that played with you in any of the qualifiers. If you do not, you will need to register as a new team, which means your spot will not be guaranteed until after Nov 1st and will be first come first serve.

DIVISIONS

The finals will consist of three divisions:

DIVISION A+: NAGVA rated A players PLUS ONE AA player
DIVISION BB
DIVISION B

NAGVA RATINGS

The Tri-city Organizing committee, which includes the AP Volleyball Board will be responsible for establishing the rating rules and requirements for this tournament. We will be using NAGVA ratings as guidance for placing teams in the proper divisions. However, this is not a NAGVA-sanctioned tournament and therefore decisions on rating are up to the committee. Teams that bring players which are not rated by NAGVA will be rated by our committee. If the team is found to be in violation of the division requirements will be bumped to a higher division (in the case of A+ teams, disqualified from the tournament if the said player is not removed).

SATURDAY NIGHT DINNER PARTY

Bowling Social Night at Asbury Park Lane followed by dancing and drinking at Paradise. Free food and bowling if you have the energy...come meet AP neighbors and more....details to come.
